ACTON ACADEMY McKINNEY TRIAL

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

This is a trial for new learners seeking to attend Acton Academy McKinney to get a feel for the environment, tribe, guides, and vibe of our studio. Will it feel right? Do they feel confident bonding with current Learners? Is this a place they can see themselves learning to learn, do, and be? 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. We will have a Hero Buddy assigned to your learners the first day and be there if there are questions or concerns of any kind.
2. Drop off is between 9:00 - 9:30 AM 
3. Pick up is at 2:00PM for Spark & 4:00 PM for ES/MS/LP.
4. Bring a lunch, snack, water, and a good book. 
5. If you or we feel that it is not an appropriate fit, the trial can end at any time.
6. $100 non-refundable fee is due on or before the trial begins.
7. Can be paid by Cash, Check, or Zelle to info@actonmckinney.org
8. If this is the journey right for you it is applied to your $500 enrollment fee.

THE TRIAL WILL CONSIST OF

1. Socratic discussions
2. Core Skills time - They will observe and try some of the curriculum that may be used for math, reading, spelling, grammar, and writing. 
3. ES and MS/LP learners may need a chromebook or laptop in order to participate in some of the core skill work
4. An email address may be needed to access some applications for ES and MS/LP
5. Lunch and Free Time
6. Quest Activities/Challenges
7. Studio Maintenance
8. Closing and reflection of the day with the tribe

AFTER THE TRIAL

The learners will review their observations from the trial and share their recommendations.  If after the trial, we are confident that it is a good fit, you will be sent an invitation to enroll.
